Psychotherapy is a process that has the potential to change people's lives. It can enable us to feel and behave more effectively and to find great fulfilment in ourselves and in our relationships. All of us experience emotional pain, anxiety and stress at some point in our lives. Sometimes these problems persist and create difficulties. Our experiences, past or present, can affect our wellbeing, confidence and our sense of meaning and potential in life. In such situations, seeking professional help can become a catalyst for change, healing and recovery.
My name is Pamela Bruce and I am a qualified and experienced psychotherapist with a private practice based in Towcester, Northamptonshire. I work with adults on an individual basis and with couples. For individuals, I offer short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy across a range of issues, including:

issues underlying addiction for those in recovery from active addiction
I also work with couples on understanding and addressing difficulties within their relationship.

Response to Coronavirus:
In response to the Government directive on working in a safe and responsible manner, in-person sessions have been replaced with online video (Skype or Zoom) or telephone sessions. However, with the easing of restrictions and the impact of the vaccination programme, in-person sessions are being offered once more but under conditions which adhere to the on-going safety guidelines, which includes the wearing of face masks and distancing measures. Whilst it is felt that online sessions often remain a better means of delivering therapy whilst these measures are in place, it is also recognised that there are exceptions to this, and for some people working in-person within these restrictions is a better option. Please contact me if you would like more detailed information on the in-person procedures.
